Without warning while driving my vehicle loses the ability to excelerate. I am lucky I haven't been hit by another car. I patiently wait and after a few seconds it will move forward into the turn. I do not get a reading or warning lights of any kind. This has just started happening and it has occurred 4 x this week. I have an appointment to have it serviced. After reading countless on-line reports it sounds like it is a throttle body Assembly or switch issue. Sometimes it drives perfectly...I am concerned about this safety issue. My Edge is older, but only has 56,000. miles on it. I suspect that I am still covered on the extended warranty since my vehicle has lower mileage.

Sudden and total loss of power while driving vehicle in traffic. There was warning, no engine light and there are no codes to diagnose. This is a life-threatening hazard and should be addressed and not dismissed by Ford. Some say it could be several solutions to the problem but the main solution has been the throttle position switch and throttle body assembly. This is a manufacturing issue and should be consider a recall fix with no cost to the owner.

It started stalling, and losing power while driving. When the ac is turned on it started driving rough at low speeds but when the ac is off it runs rough at high speeds. The throttle body seems to beessed up it now runs rough and idles rough. It's almost like it doesn't have the correct fuel to air ratio.

I have a 2009 Ford Edge limited and about two weeks ago, I noticed that an orange wrench light appeared and then my car would loose power. It never completely shut off but it would no longer accelerate and begin slowing down until it completely stopped. It happened to me during rush hour traffic when I was getting off the highway. This problem could have caused an accident! I took my Edge into the Ford dealership today for a fuel tank recall and told them about this problem. I got a phone call from Ford a few hours later explaining that the issue was related to the vehicles throttle body that needs to be replaced. Its going to cost over $600 for them to replace it! I went online and discovered that several other Ford Edge owners are having the exact same problem and are told they need to replace the throttle body. This should be made a recall after having seen so many other complaints over the issue!
