CarComplaints.com Notes: Say what you will about the styling of the Ford Edge, but the bottom line is owners seem to love this vehicle. That is, of course, except in the case of it's dangerous, worrisome and unexplained issues with random engine stalling.
Our data suggests an early defect trend, as owners of the 2007-2008 models have started posting their accounts of what happens when you're driving down the road and the engine just stops. Some at high speed, some at low speed but always a random shutdown of the engine, electrical and power steering.
Time will tell if this becomes a widespread issue, but there's no drying the seriousness of the problem. With that in mind, we're flagging the Edge with our "Beware of the Clunker" rating until the situation improves.

Takata recall it has been over three years since I get the recall notice and I still have not been able to get my airbag replaced. I live in a very hot, humid climate and am on a fixed income and I need this fixed, yet the Ford dealership keeps saying they don't have the airbag to put in it. Please help. I am guessing at the date of recall below in order to proceed with this complaint.
Takata recall: Passenger airbag could rupture in a crash and be lethal to the passenger. It has been at least a year since the recall and nothing has be done. That is a year where I have not let a front seat passenger ride in my car. The front passenger airbag has not been fixed in a timely manor.

Takata recall - according to the November 2017 remedy program document called the state of takata airbag recall, all vehicles should have had resolution by 2017 for airbag defect. Please advise next steps for immediate resolution. A 20 year old child drives this car to college. Tanaka recall - I was provided notice in July 2016 that my passenger front airbags were on recall and that they would let me know when parts are/were available. I have called regularly and stopped by the dealerships regularly and have been told parts are still not available. This was nearly 2 years ago - they told me I can not have a passenger in front of car. This has prevented me from being in a carpool at school and has been a major inconvenience. I received yet another noticed in December 2017 that parts are still not available. Forgive me, but shouldn't I have full use of my vehnicle? so frustrated! I hope someone reads this!

Takata recall, I was informed by Ford, approximately 1.5 years ago, that my 2007 Ford Edge had a recall and the airbag could cause fatal injuries to the passenger sitting in the front seat. This is a simple fix that Ford has refused to procure parts to fix at the risk of killing my family members. 1.5 years to come up with a simple part that could save my family's safety and life. Please investigate the delay in this matter and force Ford to come up with a solution.
