I dropped my son off at school Monday 2/11/20 after a therapy session, and when I went to start the car it would not start. I had my brother come down to try to jump start the car and that didn't work, so I finally phoned Ford and told them what the issue was. They said phone RAC road side assistance, your car is still covered under them. Two and a half hours later, the road side assistance came. It took them half an hour to get the car going, so I could get it home. I lived 2 seconds round the corner from the school. They checked the battery as it was the original battery in the car after I purchased it from them brand new 4 years ago.
4 days later on a Friday morning 6/11/20, when I was about to take my son and daughter to school, I got in the car, and surprise - it would not start. I finally managed to get the RAC guy out again today Sunday 8/11/20. Luckily it was the same guy from Monday and he was familiar with my car. He replaced the battery to see if that made a difference. You would think new battery car will start, right? Well, wrong, the car would not start straight away. Being a push button start car (I'm not a big fan of them), what the guy did to eventually get it started was push the button, wait for approximately a minute, put their foot on the brake, wait for a minute then push the button and - YAY - it started.
It has been recommended by the RAC that I should take the car back to Ford and demand them to check the brake switch that starts the car for any common faults.
I'm very paranoid now getting in my car and thinking to myself, is it going to start? :-(
The four years I've had this car, I have not been happy with it and have had several problems...
