The #5 plug blew out while driving. Took it to Meineke, mechanic said it was a common problem with Ford E-250. I looked it up on the net, under 5.4 liter spitting out plugs, and found complaints and instances of it. He charged $750 to put it back, using a $650 tool he bought to rethread the 13 mm opening with a 18 mm thread insert. That blew out, and he said he would do the rest of that side (3 More insert threads) for $1,230. My daughter told him to go ahead and he did. She went to pick it up, and he told her the other side might still spit out plugs, and he would do all 4 of them for $250. She told him to go ahead.
She will pick it up this week, and it will have cost her 750 plus 1230, plus 250, for a total of $2230 . I am sick over this, as my daughter needs this money, has young kids, and Ford denies responsibility from what I read.
