Ford knows this is an on-going issue and, if they were going to do the right thing (which they won't), they would recall this engine and fix the known flaw. This happened to us on an extremely hot day (108 degrees) in a place where we were VERY far from help and it could have been life threatening.
After a significant wait in the heat and a very expensive tow ($280) which far exceeded our towing insurance allowance, the repair bill was pretty bad....considering that we thought we had a 12,000 mile warranty on the engine on this unit through the dealer we bought it from. They (El Monte RV) refused to honor said warranty....so between them and Ford, we are screwed. Note to self: don't buy a used unit from El Monte RV...and DON'T (if you have a choice) buy a Ford.
Pick a different dealer....pick a different unit; or at least, know, going in, that you'll get NO help from Ford.
