IF THE PROBLEM EXISTS, THEN WHY NOT RECALL AND FIX, JUST HEARD IT WAS A TREND WITH THIS ENGINE. WOULD LIKE TO DONATE TO THE CHURCH BUT CANNOT. FIXING IT MYSELF IS OUT OF THE QUESTION. COSTS SEEM TO BE OUTRAGEOUS.STUPID!!
This is the second spark plug to blow out of the engine. I am a disabled vet who mows lawns and does odd jobs to support my family. No easy answers for this and my research shows Ford is avoiding responsibility and not showing the ethics that would enhance their reputation. It's a shame when money is more important than integrity and they seem to be oblivious to the long term effects this will have on their reputation and the reality that it will cost them more in the long run. You can't buy a good reputation. You earn it.
Engine was running reliably and perfectly up until the moment it ejected a spark plug.
No unusual sounds or behavior prior to this failure event.
Update from Sep 16, 2015: Mechanic repaired the spark-plug threads by using a properly sized heli-coil, and also a slightly different type of spark-plug with a flat mating surface and a sealing-washer (unlike the OEM style with just a conical mating surface).
