On Friday, August 2, 2018, I visited Five-Star Ford-Lincoln, 900 Russell Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia and showed the Service Advisor, Katie Reynolds (very professional) where my chrome passengers' rear door handle was peeling. My 2014 Ford F-150 has 34,150 miles on it and I had the vehicle for 39 months (outside of the 36 months or 36,000 miles warranty). This vehicle was purchased April 2015. Katie stated the estimated costs to repair the door handle will be $300. We looked at the other chrome door handles and we noticed how soft the chrome was. It is just a matter of time before the other door handles will peel.
I have a 1998 Toyota Four-Runner and a 2001 Toyota Camry and my door handles are not peeling. I can see replacing a door handle over time but a door handle cover should not be peeling. Ford did not do a very good job in manufacturing the chrome cover door handles. I think Ford should replace my door handles with better quality door handles.
