I have experienced 3 different problems with the transmission over the past few months.
1. While accelerating the truck will shift from 1st to 5th gear causing the truck to accelerate very slowly. The instrument panel remains normal when this occurs. I must stop and restart vehicle to correct the problem.
2. On few occasions the truck doesn't want to shift out of 1st when accelerating.
3. Most recently, while driving on interstate with cruise control engaged at 75 mph the truck shifts into 5th. Cruise control disengages, speedometer goes to 0, odometer blanks out (--------), check engine and airbag light come on. See pic.
The truck at this point seems to be in limp mode and will barely accelerate. The wrench icon has also illuminated a few times when this has occurred, not on this occasion with pic though. I have to pull over and restart the truck to correct the problem. I had a diagnostic check at Auto Zone when the check engine light was on, it read an error code P0720 (output shaft speed senor circuit). Each of these problems have occur very sporadically.
I took the truck into Presscott Brothers Ford a few weeks ago to have the 1nd and 2nd problem checked, the 3rd problem hadn't occurred yet. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. I have another appointment in a couple of days. Hopefully they can find something out.
Ford needs to have a recall for this issue, they've recalled earlier models!! I've seen several other similar issues with 2013 trucks. At least mine hasn't shifted from 6th to 1st at highway speeds....YET!!!
