Purchased this truck for Fords bragged about fuel economy. I have never gotten 21 MPG unless driving at 45-55 MPG. I have driven the truck at 70 MPH on the Interstate for 405 miles last Friday, no cruise control, windows up, coasting downhill and best MPG is 17.3 just last weekend. Driving with the cruise control on at 79 MPH + I get 16.2 MPG. City is now down as low as 13 MPG. The service manager at Brandon Ford drove the truck for one week and claimed he got up to 23 MPG in some instances. I can get 40 MPG going downhill. I have talked to Fleet salesmen, other owners of the same trucks who say that they get 20 MPG or more driving 75 MPH++. The inter cooler for the turbo is waiting for it's 3rd replacement, has caused the exhaust system to fail and that cannot be replaced until the new re engineered inter cooler is replaced, two months or more waiting period for parts. Brake discs had to be replaced within 35000 miles.
I baby this truck, service before recommended mileage by Ford, rarely pull a trailer. The truck has been to the dealer for parts replacements four times between 34000 and 35400 miles and is still not repaired.
