I have a 2006 F-150 5.4 3 valve engine. At 93,300 miles it runs rough, spits and sputters, missing and almost dies when accelerating. Any travel up hill when load is on the engine, it misses and jerks. Have to accelerate or take it out of overdrive. Ford told me it was good for 100,000 miles before new plugs and coils.
Now Ford tells me that they should have been change at 60,000 to keep them from breaking during replacement. 8 new plugs. 8 new coil packs at $84.00 each, it would cost $1,150, plus tax and if any plugs break off in the head, which it common, it is an additional $65.00 per plug because the plugs are defective and Ford motor company put the cost on the dealer, who then puts it on the customer.
Reading many complaints on the internet and that Ford paid out 2.5 million to settle, they never recalled all the defective vehicles and plugs and still, we, the consumer are stuck with the defective plugs and this multi-billion dollar company won't help.
Again, I have searched and read the internet for a class action law suit and cannot find a solution, although it indicated a class action suit is out there against Ford but it does not tell me who to contact.
I want to contact someone who can solve this problem, as I don't have upwards of $1,200.00 to put out on the truck. This is total BS. We all should go back to GM products. FORD, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOUSELVES.
