CarComplaints.com Notes: It's the end of the road for the Crown Victoria as Ford announced it is discontinuing the iconic model at the end of the 2011 model year. While sales were still doing well, Ford realized it would have to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to update the decades-old Panther platform.
With the Crown Vic gone, Ford no longer has a v8 sedan for sale in the US for the first time in nearly 80 years.

The Crown Victoria has been produced for over 10 years and FORD still uses the same Plenum that it knows will wear out prematurely. The replacement parts cost $325 but the entire dash has to be removed to replace the parts.
Ford knows there is a problem with the plenum because the dealers have plenty in stock. You would think after 10 years they could produce a more reliable item. It's just a money maker for them and we the consumers are being ripped off on repairs.
Update from Mar 13, 2015: Replaced plenum and air box
