My car started making a loud whining noise in the engine bay and i thought it was the belt. I checked all of the pulleys and thought the belt was just making noise. It stayed that way for a month then one day it was a very loud whining noise and it would no longer shift into third or fourth after trying to figure it out i knew the trans was done after 2 days of looking at it. Took it into a shop they recommended a transmission replacement and would cost three grand.... So i went and bought a used trans and a new torque converter. Long story short she is back up and running well, but replacing the trans was a huge pain. I'm pretty sure the front pump in the trans went out, and yes the trans fluid was still in good shape when it failed and at a good level.
