The contact owns a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. When the contact started the ignition it activated the the windshield washer fluid. Suddenly, the front windshield wipers were activated to clear any excess washer fluid; however, the windshield wipers were inoperative. There were several attempts before the windshield wipers became functional. The windshield wiper control selector failed to disengage the windshield wiper system until the engine was turned off. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on three separate occasions for the identical failures. The technician replaced the control switch twice and the motor on a separate occasion. The contact had concerns of the safety risk involved. The failure mileage was unknown.
