The contact owns a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria. The contact stated the headlights would intermittently fail without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local repair facility where it was diagnosed that the headlight multifunction switch had failed. The switch was replaced and the mechanic was advised by the dealer that the lighting control module may also need to be replaced. The module was not replaced and was declined by the contact. The contact believed the failure should be recalled due to the safety hazard of driving without proper illumination. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 61,440 and the current mileage was 64,400. Updated 10/27/10.
