2001 Crown Victoria with only 19,000 miles over several months developed increasing difficulty in turning ignition key - frequently taken maximum effort to get it to start. Presumably some electrical contact worn as would take increasing number of trys and require maximum effort to turn key clockwise to starting point.
Note that Ford Focus had same problem - could they had had the same part numbers (1L3Z-11582-A and LOCK AS 178289) for the ignition switch?
