this is a very dangerous problem. The engine just shuts off and has happened several times while wife was driving around town and just happened to me going down US 24 Highway at 65 MPH. Has to be in ignition switch because when it happens and you turn the key to restart youhave to wiggle the key severaltimes before it starts again. A friend who is a mechanic said Ford has known of the problem for a long time on several1998 cars but did not do a recall and they claim it can only be fixed at a Ford Dealer for some reason.
