Vehicle has experienced same problem as mentioned in recall 95E006002/ manufacturer's recall# 7243. Passenger's side air bag did not deploy properly. Airbag blew up, causing dashboard to crack/ windshield/ sunvisor and passenger's side window to break. Sunvisor flew to rear of vehicle, and caused minor injuries to a child. Consumer rearended another vehicle at 10 mph, causing airbags to deploy. During deployment, vehicle had black smoke.
Ea O1 007/air bag clockspring: Air bag light staying on. Dealer / manufacturer was not notified at this time. The engine was okay but the light on dash board cames and stays on.
1.) replaced ignition switch on two occasions; 2.) frontal torsion bar had to be replaced; 3.) air bag in steering wheel has a rattle noise when turning wheel, and 4.) air bag senor light intermittently comes on. Dealer notified and made all repairs except rattle in air bag on steering wheel, and the air bag sensor light that come on intermittently. Feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
Air bag system has an electrical short. Consumer was told by the dealer that they cannot find the problem, and is waiting for the system to recode itself.
While driving air bag became loose & fell in driver's lap. Took back to dealer & service manager supposedly repaired air bag 1st time. It happened again later on in the year. This time told by manufacturer & dealer that it was not a safety issue. Was not repaired.
Air bag deployment was violent, causing burns to left arm/right hand, and also on left side of stomach with the development of a small cyst. Dup of 516955, added on 25-Feb-98.
Recall related, 95V228000 and 95V232000 contacted dealership on 3/11/95, will order parts by Apr.20,1995, no parts available as 4/3/95. Consumer was also having problems with the driver's side seat track, driver's side air bag, and the driver's side window, and was also told a new filler neck ws needed for gas tank, also needed new wiper, starter needed to be replaced, switch for windshield wiper on steering wheel was coming off and would not snap back into place.
