I bought the car 2 years ago with 47,000 miles on it along with a 3 year extended warranty. It started around winter when the car changed to the engine it became very loud. When I would turn the heat off the noise would stop because the car would change the EV engine. As the months go on I have noticed the noise it more constant and louder (sounds like an airplane taken off).
The noise is only loud when the heat / air conditioner are on and when I am accelerating. Once the engine kicks back to the EV is silent as can be. The car drives fine, just the noise is scary.
I called the dealership where I purchased the vehicle and they indicted the 3 year warranty I purchased is expired because it was only good up 75,000 miles and I have 81,000.
I can bring it and possibly pay $120.00 for them to run a diagnostic, if it comes back with an issue that is covered under the standard warranty (which is good up until 100,000 miles) I will not have to pay the diagnostic fee. Does this sound to anyone else if this is an issue with 2013 C-Max Hybrid Ford. To some people $120 may not be a lot of money, however to me it is. Thanks :) Amanda
