Was driving down the switchbacks near my home. The grade is fairly steep and so I put the car in LOW. Coming out of the first switchback I heard a noise in the transmission area and it slipped into neutral. I braked and stopped the car and put it into park then Drive. I drove the car on to my destination
2 weeks later in the same place it did it again, just as before. I took it to the car agency to have it fixed.
The Ford Agency in Torrence had the car for 42 days and finally told me they couldn't get it to act up and therefore could not determine there was a problem.
Today, I just received a call from the Service Advisor saying that the price of the rental car came to just over $900.00. They wanted me to pay that. When I said no, They asked if I would cover half of the rental. I said no.
My point is the car did what it did to me. It will probably do it again. I really liked that car but now cannot trust it. Popping into neutral on the switchbacks really took me by surprise. I didn't ask for the car to be in the shop for this long period of time. I called every week to check on the progress and each time they had no answers.
I bought my car new. My car is a 2014 Ford Cmax energy with 70,300 miles. I need my car fixed and guaranteed that it's not going to slip out of gear again. And I don't feel I should pay for the rental. I purchased the extended warranty and ALL of the other warranties Ford offered when I bought the car.
