Ford TSB #SSM 46285
2017 Ford C-Max
TSB Document:
Affected Component: EQUIPMENT:APPLIANCE:AIR CONDITIONER
- Summary
- SOME 2017 FUSION HEV/PHEV, C-MAX HEV/PHEV, AND MKZ HEV VEHICLES MAY EXHIBIT AN ILLUMINATED MIL WITH DTC P0071 AND/OR DEGRADED HVAC PERFORMANCE IN AUTOMATIC MODE ONLY WITH AN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE READING OF 50 DEGREES F DISPLAYED IN THE MESSAGE CENTER. IF AFTER PERFORMING NORMAL PINPOINT TEST DIAGNOSIS, A COMPONENT FAILURE IS NOT IDENTIFIED, DO NOT CONTINUE WITH FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR PART REPLACEMENT. HAVING THE VEHICLE PARKED AND STARTED IN A WARM ENCLOSED AREA BEFORE BEING DRIVEN INTO COLD TEMPERATURES CAN INADVERTENTLY CAUSE THESE SYMPTOMS AND DTC. THE HVAC AND MESSAGE CENTER FUNCTIONS WILL RETURN TO NORMAL AFTER THE VEHICLE IS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. CLEAR THE DTC USING THE FORD INTEGRATED DIAGNOSTIC TOOL (IDS) OR EQUIVALENT. ENGINEERING IS INVESTIGATING. MONITOR OASIS FOR UPDATES.
