This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Air bags failed to deploy when the car hit a tree. Issue has not be reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. Vehicle has been inspected by claims adjuster only. There were no messages or symptoms of an issue prior to failure.
We keep getting error messages on the vehicle's information screen that says "The restraints control module has detected a fault with the driver seatbelt buckle sensor circuit". The airbag warning indicator light stays on and the alert occurs numerous times randomly while driving the vehicle. We are afraid that if we get into an accident the airbags might not deploy. We have taken vehicle to dealer for service (it is under new car warranty) and we were told a part is on order, but we've waited for two weeks and we feel unsafe driving it.
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving at 15 MPH, he collided with the rear of a trailer on the front driver's side. The air bags did not deploy, and as a result, the driver was thrust forward into the steering wheel. No warning lights were illuminated. A police report was filed, and injuries were reported. The driver was transported to an area hospital and treated for severe chest trauma and breathing difficulty, while the passenger was later treated for minor undisclosed injuries. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and later towed to the dealer. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 3,200.
The contact's daughter owns a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that the vehicle App displayed a Restraint Control System warning message. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V686000 (Exterior Lighting) and 22V859000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that several local dealers were contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 8,000.
Passenger knee airbag did not deploy Drivers Steering column came off at base which is why there was no airbag deployed. Front driver and passenger sun visors came completely off and exposed wires and metal rods.
