The contact stated that while the vehicle was at an independent mechanic for an oil change, the contact was informed that the engine oil casing and separator housing were cracked, causing oil to leak into the engine. The independent mechanic determined that the engine oil casing and separator housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline.
