The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 MPH, there was an abnormal vibrating sound coming from the moon roof. The contact stated that the moon roof started to bend inward and required to be held up manually. The contact then closed the moonroof. The contact contacted an independent mechanic and was informed that it was a known failure. The mechanic referred the contact to the dealer. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 40,000.
My husband was driving down a mountain highway when suddenly he heard a loud noise. He pulled over and found the moonroof glass had shattered. There were no cars around and no signs that something had hit it-?"we think it was glass failure due to a pressure change. Ford has had issues with moonroof glass spontaneously shattering on other vehicles and there are a few reports online about it happening to other Bronco Sports. Ford will not take responsibility and says we need to file an insurance claim. This is a major safety issue-?"my husband could have been seriously injured if the moonroof cover had been open and glass had fell on him.
