The car has now on three separate occasions lost power while driving. As I slow down coming to stop or reducing speed car will completely lose power and then struggle to restart. Both occasions were on busy roads. Additionally, when you put fuel in the car it does not turn on right away it smells like fuel is burning and fumes enter into the cabin. When you push start after fueling it struggles to turn car on to drive. There is full accessory power but no power to drive the car even when giving it gas. It requires multiple attempts at starting the vehicle and it will tremble and shake once it starts running and stutters as if about to shut off even when you start driving it. Today it powered down again while driving and we avoided and accident but it is becoming dangerous to drive the vehicle due to its unpredictable shutting down.

The car caught fire the morning of Dec 11, 2024 while the vehicle's owner was driving their children to school. There are photos and a fire report is being generated. The vehicle's owner and her children could have been killed. Early indications are that the fire was caused by the same faulty engine/exhaust system defect that the owner has been complaining to Ford about for years. It is assumed the fire report will confirm that. For the past two or more years the vehicle has been emitting exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of the vehicle while driving. This has caused the vehicle's owner and her children to get sick and forced them to drive the vehicle with the windows down at all times even in cold weather. Ford's dealers have confirmed the problem several times, but either could not or refused to fix it. A summary of the vehicle's service history is included below: 35,662 miles Customer states inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 37,431 miles Inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 39,856 miles inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. confirmed customers concern found cat warped at mating surface to turbo replacement required. 46,832 miles Fumes getting inside the Cab, seems to be blowing in from vents. Misdiagnosed as blower motor electrical smell and missed broken catalyst. 47,300 miles Customer had car towed into shop stating car was shaking and smelled flumes inside the car. Verified concern that exhaust smell was present in car and loud noise was coming from engine, found catalytic converter had broken at flange to turbo causing exhaust leak. Recommend new catalytic converter, removed and replaced catalytic converter. Low pressure fuel injectors are leaking. Verified customer concern, found fuel seeping out of all 3 low side injectors, recommend injector replacement, remove and replaced all 3 low side fuel injectors, found no other leak at this time. Found injectors were leaking fuel. 47,829 miles Check engine light. Remove and replace purge valve.

The evaporative emissions system failure involving the purge valve and vapor canister purge valve is a recurrent issue on this car and has been reported by hundreds if not thousand of bronco sport owners. The safety issue that arises from this is that we are emitting more fuel vapors into the atmosphere, not only does this not help with emissions control into the atmosphere, but it decreases fuel efficiency and increases gasoline smell into the vehicles cabin.

On 1/23/24, car was serviced for an electrical fault with the fuel pump control module which was confirmed via a vehicle alert. On 6/12/24, car was serviced for a software update recall. (I believe this was in relation to the fuel injector issue.) On 7/4/24, the car would not start but kept clicking trying to start. White smoke started coming out from under the hood. Panicked, we called the fire department and my niece's husband disconnected the battery so that the car would quit trying to start in an effort to mitigate a full fire. We could smell burning and fuel. The fire department even confirmed something smelled like it had burned but there was no active fire, so they told us to leave the battery disconnected and have it towed. I had the car towed to the dealership for $249. (Of which Ford only reimbursed me $140) My car sat for 2 weeks before Ford service confirmed the fuel injectors needed to be replaced as part of the 22N18 recall, but also said the battery was bad. Prior to this incident, I had 0 issues other than the issue in January. I had no notifications of battery issues in my app, no dimming of lights, etc. I had to pay over $300 to replace the battery so Ford could do "further testing" since I was a month out of the 36 month warranty. I picked up my car on 7/26/24 and when I started it in the bay, I smelled burning and even asked a different employee who confirmed he smelled it, and we were told by the manager that it was "old fuel burning off." He assured me the car was fine. I noticed my car being slow to start and having an odd issue whenever I turned, like a rubbing sound and it still had a burning smell even though I had to pay Ford to replace the cabin air filter. This was all new. Then, 8/18/24, my car again would not start, all the electrical lit up and the brakes were locked up. My car started smoking again under the hood as it kept trying to start. We could hear sounds like it was trying to start. Again, car is being towed to Ford.

I took my vehicle in to have the flash system updated to pass the emissions test for Louisiana. Ford charged me over $200 for a failure on that system from purchase, and no dealership would get back to me until I took my vehicle across town to have the system reset. Hollingsworth Ford told me that this wouldn't be covered under their system because I took this in out of warranty, but this is a problem since vehicle purchase.

Vehicle experienced power terrain failure causing vehicle to stop while driving in the middle of the road meanwhile cars avoid hitting my vehicle. I had my [XXX] old in the backseat at the time and this incident could have caused injury or possibly death. Vehicle has also experienced accelerator issues. Vehicle would lag 3-5 seconds for vehicle accelerator to speed up when pressing on accelerator. Fortunately no major accidents, but I am concerned that the issues I have experienced thus far with the Bronco 2021, it can potentially cause a major accident that can possibly cause injury or death. Through Ford Pass app I do recieve warning messages of mechanical issue at time of incident. Vehicle has been inspected and mechanical issues corrected at the dealership. Our 2021 Bronco just suddenly died while driving. We were in a parking lot, moving, and it just quit. The Bronco would not restart and on the display screen it said "requires a manual start". It was not the battery, and the engine sounded like it was flooded. Thankfully, we were in a parking lot and not driving very fast. While we were waiting for a tow for over an hour, and we got the car to start and were able to drive it home. We called Ford, and their only response was if it happens again to let them know. It happened again a couple weeks later. This time while driving on a road going about 30 mph. We were lucky and able to glide into a parking lot. It was very scary because it just died. We called Ford and made an appointment to have it checked out. We were charged $1117 to replace the fuel pump ($1000 was for labor). When I questioned why a fuel pump would go bad when the vehicle is only two years old. The response was "cars aren't built like they used to be". I want our experience documented as we were very lucky that we were not injured when our vehicle died while driving. Until these incidents, there was no indication that there was anything wrong with the vehicle. We have learned that this has happened to other people as well when we Googled it. It is a huge safety concern. We now have received a Ford notice about a safety recall describing the exact issues we experienced.

Bought 2021 bronco sport in Dec 21. Since my engine has stuttered and started to die. The panel starts falling as if it is sitting off. This is not the auto engine shut off while idling at a light issue. Upon starting the engine you can hear a ticking and on every certain revelation the vehicle will sputter and start to cut off. It has died on 2 occasions in my driveway, but not yet on the road. It will stutter and start to die almost always in idle, especially in park, but it will do it and stay losing power mainly while driving low speeds or when not pressing gas pedal. I received recall and was told part was not available and didn't know when it would be available and have never been told part was available, but miraculously my recall order was closed without parts ever being replaced. This is like mist of the 8 recalls on this vehicle. 6 recalls where made before the vehicle came off of the train car. 6 recalls were still active the night I drove off the lot AFTER SERVICE WAS CLOSED. My first service was flat spots in my tires from sitting in a train car in Florida heat for 3 months, no parts were replaced, feb and March of last year the recall was closed before my car was in the shop... My dealership is clearing recalls and not reels my vehicle. They are taking advantage of my mental disabilities.

While driving on the interstate at 65-70mph, my Bronco Sport lost all acceleration randomly. The engine would rev, but there was no acceleration. I had no indication of errors (no engine light, etc.) Before this happened, I was using the adaptive cruise control. I had to pull over and power cycle the vehicle to fix the issue. This was while traffic was busy with cars flying by me. I have not taken it to a dealership or had it diagnosed yet, but this shouldn't be something that happens anyways. Not only was this scary, it was a huge safety risk as it could have caused a wreck.

On 03/14/2023 at 1300 hrs. I had an appointment with the Ford service department in regards to safety recall 22V859. I arrive at the service station and was informed that the part was not available. One of the employees there told me to come back the next day 03/15/2023 at 1000 hrs. and he gave me his word that the vehicle would be repaired at that time. I arrived on that date and after waiting an hour I was called into the office and told they did not have the part. That same employee told me he would call me by the end of that week and here we are on 03/27/2023 and I have not heard from Ford. This is very irresponsible on Fords behalf.

Contacted Dealer to schedule Recall 22V859. I was informed parts on back order. I can smell raw fuel, at times while driving. Although this recall does not address the core problem (cracked fuel injectors), Ford should have had the parts available for the temporary fix, prior to sending out the letter to customers.

Had the vehicle in for regular service and recall repair January 13, 2023. I was informed that the recall could not be completed due to there not being any available parts for the repair. It has now been four weeks and I haven't heard from the dealership about completing this repair. I am concerned about the lack of interest on the part of Ford Motor Company and its local dealer in completing these repairs. The statement about there not being any parts for the repair is not totally true. The company is using all available parts for production and their bottom line rather for the safety and well-being of their customers. There are at least ten (10) like vehicles on the dealership's lot at the present time that the parts could be taken from for repair of the vehicle and my safety and well-being.

The vehicle was acting weird and not providing power in the way that I would expect it when accelerating. If the vehicle cannot accelerate, I am at risk because I may be merging into traffic and a car could hit me. I tried calling the dealer but they don't have a solution to the problem yet. It is a safety recall but they don't have a way to fix it. There's also a lawsuit that I'm not related to but about this same issue. So I'm concerned this is going to take a long time to be solved. The screen inside the car malfunctioned and turned off but I'm not 100% sure if that's related. Below is the recall that I am referring to Manufacturer Recall Number22S73 NHTSA Recall Number22V859 I'm just hoping to be able to drive a safe car and I'm concerned that this is a danger to me and my passengers and I'm not sure what I can do about it because even the dealership doesn't have a solution.

I had recall done a few months back regarding my breaks. Breaks always sound horrible when my vehicle is cold. When the recall was done they sound even worst. Ford parts are the worst. Im embarrassed every time I leave my driveway. Due to the loud noise. I took my car to marina Ford on October 2022 because the engine sounds horrible. It shakes. I feel like I will get stranded. The dealer tech told me they did not have anything available until January 2, 2023. Once January came they told me they did not provide rental cars. Im scared to drive my vehicle. I drive for a living with people with disabilities. We are put in danger every time I drive. I have several videos on how my engine trembles, I am putting myself and my consumers at risk. Please help me resolve my problem. Ford is not helping me since there family own dealers. I would appreaciate a response. Thanks

I was driving in Atlanta in 4 lanes of heavy traffic. My new Bronco just started slowing down and I was almost killed by traffic swerving around me. The message said deactivated switch and fuel injector faulty. Then Bronco completely stopped and would not crank. 100 degree heat in bad part of town. Stranded and scared. After being towed, the deactivated switch replaced in Ford dealership in Georgia. No loaner given. After 2 weeks at my expense, I get car back. 2 months later it happens again. Now, it-??s in dealership for third time for 2 more weeks. Waiting to hear what-??s wrong. The dealership has ordered fuel injector replacements. This is a brand new Bronco with about 4k miles. I am distressed and disappointed.

While driving on surface and freeway, the vehicle dramatically loses fuel pressure and slows down. It's a hazard. Nearly rear-ended on the highway. After a while, pressure resumes, only to fail randomly. No warning or malfunction indicators appear. Vehicle has been at a Ford service center 2 times and is there again, now. First, they changed the battery. Then they told us we didn't drive it enough. Suspiciously, there's a recall addressing the exact same issue on the same make and model, made at a different plant. Perhaps it's related? NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V625000.

I started my car on 2/15. Drove about.5 miles down the street through a fast food place. Drove another.9 miles down the street. I heard a pop and pulled over immediately and the car was already on fire. The car had around 3542 miles on it. I had just leased it in September. Ford says this was the only vehicle that this has happened too. The inspection is happening with the insurance company as well as Ford Motor Company. No prior issues and no warning signs on the car before the fire.
