The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds and while in reverse, the instrument panel occasionally flickered. The battery failure warning light illuminated intermittently. In addition, the contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the engine failed to turn over. AAA was contacted and arrived on the scene to replace the battery. The local dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V267000 (Electrical System, Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

I was in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma on the freeway and my entire dashboard lights went out. It went black. I did not know what that meant and was scared to death that my car was just going to stop running on the freeway! I have read online that many many other people are experiencing this problem. After they recalibrated my system for the last recall this all started happening. A warning comes up saying charging system service now and the battery light flickers on for a minute and then it goes away. When it happened on the freeway at night all of the lights on my dash just totally went black. It needs to be addressed and fixed. Ford has no idea what it is and wants to charge us all kinds of money to try to figure it out. I just saw jeeps and rams were recalled for a similar issue. Why aren-??t the fords being recalled??

As I was driving with my wife on our way back home, my vehicle flashed every warning light, and my dashboard went dark. I was going about 40-?"45 mph, the engine was still running, and we made it home, which was only less than 2 miles from my house. As I was driving on my way home, the media console had this message: "vehicle network communication error, " but once home, I could not get the SUV to shift into park, and it suddenly shut off on it's own. My 2021 Bronco Sport is still under Ford's manufacturer warranty. I requested a tow from the Ford app to have it delivered to Hacienda Ford Service of Edinburg, Texas, and a payment of $201.09 was required to dispatch a tow service. A couple of days later, I got a call that my SUV was ready, the battery might of been in a low state of charge, and there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. The dealership service manager claimed on the phone to have never heard of a "vehicle network communication error." I even took pictures of the error message on my phone, but the dealership had no desire to even take a look at the video or pictures of the vehicle network communication error message. If it happens again, at least I know how to temporarily fix the vehicle's malfunction. The tow truck driver disconnected the battery for 15 minutes and was able to get the vehicle to start and shift it back to park. So I ended up paying $201.09 to have the privilege for Hacienda Ford Service to tell me my battery might of been at a low state of charge while I was driving.

I was driving and a warning came up on the driver console that the I believe blind spot detection system malfunctioned (it happened really fast) and some of the lights on the dash went off. Then everything went dark on the dash and center console screen. The center console screen just said "Vehicle Network Communication Error". I turned off the car and the car would not turn back on after that. This happened while driving and could be very dangerous while driving especially at night. The Pictured attached is with the car on, before I turned it off. Once I turned it off that screen stayed on all night with that message with a few accessory lights.

The dash cluster was dead and the start button LED just flashed on and off. The battery, checked with a VOM, showed normal voltage. The vehicle would not start. I unhooked one of the battery terminals and waited 10 minutes for the system to reset. After reconnecting the battery the vehicle lit up, behaved and started as normal. One should not have to carry tools to reboot their vehicle.
