- Summary
- The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 6 consumer complaints alleging low-pressure fuel pump failure in model year (MY) 2021 Ford Bronco vehicles. Consumers have reported that the failure occurred while driving, without warning, and resulted in a complete loss of motive power with no ability to reengage the engine. The reports indicated that the low-pressure fuel pump was replaced following the incident. Ford has acknowledged that the same low-pressure fuel pump in the MY 2021 Ford Bronco is equipped on multiple Ford/Lincoln models. The scope of this this investigation will inquire about all Ford/Lincoln models equipped with this low-pressure fuel pump. ODI is opening this Preliminary Evaluation (PE) to determine the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related problems.
