This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The driver of the vehicle was burned on his left hand/wrist/forearm, the contents of the air bag was inhaled by the driver and left the driver choking and has developed bronchitis. The driver has seen a doctor and will continue to see the doctor to document the symptoms. Both the driver and the doctor are not aware of the chemicals used to deploy the SRS. The drivers sweater was burned and melted, the long-sleeve shirt was burned, and the burn continued through to the skin. The officer responding to the accident has not heard of this before as well as an employee of the fire department.
