Two months ago my 2017 Fiat 500e just stopped in the middle of the road. I was barely able to coast it to the side of the road. The dashboard started going crazy with error codes. It all seemed very random and intermittent. I was able to 'reset' the car by disconnecting/reconnecting the 12v battery a few times. But after 10 minutes of driving it died again. I tried resetting the battery again and after about 2 dozen attempts, I got it to start up. But again, after 10 mins or so it stopped.
After calling around I was told that only one dealership still did warranty work on the 500e. So I had it towed the dealership. It took about 2 weeks for them to decided the ABS module was the cause. The replaced the ABS module but then they told me it didn't fix the problem. My car is STILL in the shop after 2 months. Currently the dealership says they are waiting for Fiat/Chrysler to get back to them with a solution. I've been told by the service manager that it's likely Chrysler will buy back my 500e.
At this point, I hope they do. I drive over a 100 miles a day for work and I don't feel like even if I got the car back I could rely on it.
