Here's another big issue on the Fb Fiat groups. This is regarding the rear hatch not opening. It was working well, then one day it would be intermittent, till eventually it stopped working all together. I found a bunch of clipped and frayed wiring in the hatch, so I ordered a kit and got to work splicing and crimping in the new wires. I also made up some insulation and used a really good tape to try and prolong the issue happening again. Unfortunately my rear hatch still doesn't open via button on the hatch or via the key and I am still getting to the bottom of it.

*Could make for a serious problem is the rear hatch doesn't work and that lines up with some broken door handles...

Poor design! The trunk stopped opening, had to crawl into the back and manually open it (it's a FIAT there is no room for a grown adult to go crawling back there with a screwdriver in the middle of a COSTCO run), then 2 weeks later the rear windshield wiper stops working (in the middle of a storm), finally look up what it could be and apparently there are a ton of people out there with the same problem. The wires are all ripped up in the wiring harness that leads to the hatch. Come on FIAT how could you design it this way? You open and close your trunk a ton in this car, its tiny and the trunk space is utilized often. To make matters worse the wires were close to touching each other and could have started a fire if left unchecked, recall is needed on this before someone gets hurt.
