CarComplaints.com Notes: Considering sales numbers and data that monitors complaints-per-make, there appears to be an unusually high number of issues with the 2012 Fiat 500. Perhaps that isn't surprising -- it is the first model year of the car, and those tend to have a higher incidence rate.
Of particular concern is the number of engine and powertrain complaints submitted to NHTSA.
At around 600 miles, the odometer randomly started blinking. About the same time the blue tooth phone system started acting strange and the transmission was shifting a little rough, but nothing serious.
I called the dealership and they said they had seen this before, you just have to reset the computer system, takes about 5 minutes to do.
Before I could bring the car in for service, it stopped on its own. It did this about 3 times in January - February (very cold weather) and hasn't done it since.
I'm inclined to think the Fiat just doesn't like the bitter cold weather, but who knows. It wasn't a major issue, just slightly annoying.
