CarComplaints.com Notes: Considering sales numbers and data that monitors complaints-per-make, there appears to be an unusually high number of issues with the 2012 Fiat 500. Perhaps that isn't surprising -- it is the first model year of the car, and those tend to have a higher incidence rate.

Of particular concern is the number of engine and powertrain complaints submitted to NHTSA.

So this past winter, my windshield wipers took on this thing where they would only work on the highest setting. I took it in, figuring the motor of the wipers was broken. The jackass at the dealership told me that the ENTIRE CENRAL COMPUTER system needed to be replaced. This is the THIRD time it was being replaced—the first time after warranty. The cost: nearly $3,000! I was livid! But it needed to be done. Fast forward 8 months: now the windshield wipers WON'T BLOODY STOP working! Fortunately the central computer system has a 2 year warranty (looks like they are only good for two years anyway), but it is a $65 admin fee for them to do it. Our solution: we replaced this piece of sh*t Fiat 500 with a Volkswagen Golf. So far what has happened with my car: -clock never kept proper time (first new central computer system replacement, 6 months after buying car) -CD player ate one of my favourite CDs (second central computer system replacement) -the display dimmer dims and gets brighter on its own, constantly -the car won't accelerate at an intersection if the AC and radio are on (fix: turn AC and radio off to move) -car won't start if AC is on and radio are on (there the engine is 101 horsepower—half of these bloody horses are lame) -we have replaced the headlight SIX times, at $100 a lightbulb, but there is nothing wrong with the wiring they tell me -$100/ oil change, that takes the dealer 5–6 hours to do (no one else will do Fiat oil changes) -on one service maintenance appointment, they charged me several hundred dollars to check the seal on my sunroof...yet my car doesn't have one...and I had to argue with the asshats at the dealership about this

DO NOT BUY A FECKIN FIAT! THEY ARE EVIL!
