: the contact stated the shifter arm was difficult to shift from the park position to drive or reverse whenever the vehicle was started. Transmission fluid was added every week or two, which seemed to make shifting easier. The air conditioner failed and an independent mechanic determined the coil was flat and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified.

The transmission couldn't not be rebuilt. It had a crack in the housing. It cost me $2275 to have replaced. It has been failing for about a year. It would at times violently jerk the passengers forward when trying to shift upwards and was undependable in case fast accelleration was needed. It finally quit shifting up to 4th gear. The fuses tend to overheat for some unknown reason which has caused the windows not to work and some of the the interior instrument lights not to work. The brakes keep having problems. I can't get them fixed to my satisfaction. I didn't list them as a problem because there have been too many trips to get the brakes fixed to list in the form.

Dealer would not fix lurching problem under warranty. Now have spent over $3,300 to correct the problems with this car. Many other people are experiencing the same problems with Chrysler transmissions
