Driving home from work one day when I made a left turn my RPM's went down from about 3000 to 1400 and I had problems engaging the clutch. When I got home, I went online and started my research on my vehicle. I found out that I could possibly be the crank pulley. My vehicle is 15 years old and I know that, but when I research the recalls on it, there were 14 safety recalls. While I don't want the car to lock up on me driving at highway speeds I have to fix that but in this day and age, how am I suppose to pay for all the defects" I certainly can't afford all the repairs and living in a rural area where I have no co-workers living by me how do I do the repairs and stay without a car and keep my job. I did what I thought almost everyone does and checked a carfax report but that doesn't shoe the recalls. I wish I was aware of that but now I feel like I'm driving a timebomb waiting for something to happen. Do any dealerships see this and fix them after 10 + years just for someone's safety? I'm a single dad and can't afford to lose my job or fix the car but people should be more aware of these things instead of just seeing carfax commercials. Please advise. Should I contact the insurance carrier now that I know this"
