Driving home from work one day when I made a left turn my RPM's went down from about 3000 to 1400 and I had problems engaging the clutch. When I got home, I went online and started my research on my vehicle. I found out that I could possibly be the crank pulley. My vehicle is 15 years old and I know that, but when I research the recalls on it, there were 14 safety recalls. While I don't want the car to lock up on me driving at highway speeds I have to fix that but in this day and age, how am I suppose to pay for all the defects" I certainly can't afford all the repairs and living in a rural area where I have no co-workers living by me how do I do the repairs and stay without a car and keep my job. I did what I thought almost everyone does and checked a carfax report but that doesn't shoe the recalls. I wish I was aware of that but now I feel like I'm driving a timebomb waiting for something to happen. Do any dealerships see this and fix them after 10 + years just for someone's safety? I'm a single dad and can't afford to lose my job or fix the car but people should be more aware of these things instead of just seeing carfax commercials. Please advise.
