So, I was driving along and BAM, the car jerks, engine revs as I still have my foot on the gas and the car can't get past 30 mph. Jerks again and it goes. This happened for about an hour while I was running errands. Drove it straight to my mechanic. He went over it and over it and couldn't find anything, but assumed it was the power supply for the transmission and referred my to the Dodge dealer. (I had purchased this car used 2 years ago). Off it went to the dealer. They had it about a week and replaced the above mentioned "power supply"...I think this is the TCM? I picked it up on a Friday and later that evening, SAME THING! It went back to the dealer on Monday. They monkeyed with it for another 7-10 days (depending on if you count the weekend) and decide it is the PCM causing the problem. Replaced it and it seemed okay for 2 1/2 weeks or so. Then last week I am driving along and BAM, SAME THING! They have it all last week and Thursday the guy I've been dealing within service says that the mechanic thinks it's fixed, but he is skeptical and wants the service manager to sign off on it. I am not exactly sure what they did, but they said they thought that it just hadn't "settled in" after the last repair and that this was a one time thing and it would be fine.
They stated they had driven it 60 miles after they "fixed" it and it ran like a champ. I didn't even get home with it before it happened again TODAY! It isn't safe to drive it like this...the highway is out of the question and they say they want to try again. I am at my wits end and can't find anything on the internet to help. HELP!
