The headlights and tail lights failed to operate properly. Had taken vehicle to private mechanic to check out system. Was informed that electrical wires were melted together. There were no recalls.
Consumer changed fuses for tail and dash lights. Drove twenty five miles and noticed a smell. Consumer was driving through a grass fire. So the smell was normal. The driving twenty more miles down the road, consumer noticted that smoke coming from the the dashboard. Consumer pulled over, and flames started coming out fast. Entire dashboard and wires melted. The headlight switch started the fire.
Consumer contacted dealer in reference to recall number 99V024000. Dealer refused to correct recal., dealer stated that this vehicle was not included in recall due to VIN.

When driving the headlights sometimes work and sometimes go out. It may be a fuse blown. One never knows when it will blow out. Also causes the tail light and the signal lights to go out. Dealer cannot duplicate the problem.
