Using a small car trailer I can set the integrated trailer brake contoller to a comfortable level: 1.5 empty or 6.0+ when hauling another vehicle and everything stops evenly.
When I haul my large 30' gooseneck (~16k lbs loaded) I can set the controller to the MAX of 10 no matter how hard I cram on the trucks brake pedal I feel the trailer is pushing me when trying to stop. If I grab the emergency paddles no the controller I can feel the trailer brakes engaging and slowing me down without an issue.
On my previous truck (2004 Ford F250 w/same trailer) I owned a Tekonsha P3 trailer brake controller that had "boost levels" that I could select level 3 for this large trailer and it stopped like a champ.
On this 2011 RAM there is no option for this which can make panic stops very dangerous!
