The brake controller does not apply the brakes on the trailer when you step on the brake peddle. If you apply the emergency slid on the controller it will stop the trailer, lock up the wheels on the trailer. This has been this way when the truck was new. I did not realize this until now(6/10/2015). I thought I had heavy 5th camper and it was just not stopping like the other trailers I have had in the past. So I checked out the problem on the internet and talked some people in camp grounds and found out the truck trailer brake controller never worked. My truck is out of warranty and I bought a part from a dealer and installed the new part and it did not. The dealer would not take the part back. So I am trying to find a fix for my problem.
If any one knows how fix this I sure would like to know.
Thank you
