NV5600 6 speed transmission has severe gear clash in third and fourth gears. Will not down shift into third gear with gear grinding. Trouble started about 1 month ago, at 92, 000 miles. Dealer tells me that parts are not available to repair and they are not sure if Dodge is having a problem. Tsb 21-009-01 indicates Dodge knew of problems in 01, but have not done much since then.
There is a grinding noise in the standard 6 speed transmission that gets worse when it is in the reverse gear. This could result in transmission going out at anytime. The cause of the noise was undetermined.
(father on behalf of son) consumer purchased vehicle for his son. There has been a reoccuring constant transmission and transfer case lock up. There have been attempts to rectify this problem but to no avail.
On several occasions, while driving, consumer states clutch seized and vehicle stalled. Dealer replaced clutch assembly and flywheel and found clutch disc burned out. Customer states the transmission clunks when shifting. Customer states vehicle will buck when attempting to start in 1st gear. Vehicle shudders when driving and customer has completely lost clutch.

Rpms are racing down and up, and sometimes get stuck in up position. When shifting gears, a clanking noise occurs. Also, when starting up vehicle it will shake. Consumer was told these problems are due to faulty computer and Chrysler will not have a remedy for about 2-3 months. There was noise from rear end when shifting gear. The driver side door was hard to close. The engine had rough idle.
