Consumer was able to start the vehicle and shift the gear without applying the brakes. Dealer was notified. Dealer informed consumer that was the normal characteristic of that vehicle.

The column shifter has broken down a total of five times since Oct 2001. It has been fixed each time by antwerpen Dodge at no cost. This is the first Dodge truck that I owned and it's been a major disappointment, considering the fact that I paid over $21,000 of my hard earned money and have to repeatedly turn it in for service. This is unacceptable. More importantly, if I were to engage the steering colum and it malfunctioned, I may get into a serious accident. Somebody may be hurt or even killed. While driving 4 wheel drive kept going into high 4 and then it goes back out. Then, their was a loud noise, and a burning smell.
