Consumer states Dodge Ram 3500 diesel popped out of park causing injuries the consumer stated the door of the vehicle hit her and the truck ran over her, breaking both of her legs.
Transmission problem that Dodge has know about for years and refuses to repair- automatic transmission, governor solenoid, and sensor causing no transmission up-shift. These have been failing on vehicles for many years and estimates are 4 out of 5 fail before 100,000 miles. You pull out in traffic and you have no up-shift and vehicle fails to accelerate causing crashes.
Consumer stated that transmission failed at 80,000 miles. While driving to work power shut down, and the vehicle stopped. Consumer had vehicle towed to a Dodge dealer, and was told that the transmission failed. The dealer/mechanic told consumer that in order to repair vehicle it would cost her from $3000 to $5000.

While wheel alignment was done mechanic noticed front rotors were worn down to nothing, metal to metal. Replaced rotors and front disc pads. At this time, rotors need to be replaced again. Ball joints and tires were replaced, consumer states problems with the rear but did not specify, also did not specify types of tires. Vehicle experiencing problems with the transmission. Intake gasket replaced. New carpet in the cab was installed. New bumper and grill was installed. Consumer also states problem with the ABS along with the rotors and disc pads.
Transmission does not properly shift into different gears, cause unknown. The consumer had been to the dealer several times for repairs of ball joints, power steering and the transmission.
Had a short block placed on engine due to making a pecking noise. Also, transmission would make a whinning sound when shifting into gear. This happens anytime when either stopping or starting off. Air conditioner and heater are inoperable. Vibration is felt at 48-60 mph. Dealer replaced engine, however problem is still present, dealer told consumer to use 30 weight oil, consumer wants dealer to buy back vehicle, he feels he has a lemon.
Reporting a rental vehicle from express way Dodge experienced a fire underneath vehicle while driving at highway speed of 55-60 mph. Consumer feels the fire was caused by either the fuel pump or a transmission leak.
Vehicle has been running very rough. When vehicle is placed in gear a loud noise is heard. Also, vehicle stalls without prior warning. Problem is intermittent. In addition, vehicle pulls to one side, driver's side. Consumer has contacted dealer.
Cruise control engages at any given time. Dealer noticed transmission sending unit cable got loose. Consumer states most common scenario is cruise control being set at speed, then being cancelled by consumer either by cancel button or by braking, cruise will then reengage at set speed.
Customer states clunk noise heard at idle in park - noise coming from drivers side floorboard. Dealer verified concern - shift linkage vibration transfer through column and floorboard. Normal condition at this time. No manf. Fix for problem.
My three year old put my truck in gear if I was not there to stop it he could have been seriously hurt. Something needs to be done to fix this problem, I am not the only mother that drives a truck that has children, I know that it is mandatory for light trucks, but why not these? someone is going to be hurt seriously from this.
2001 Dodge 3500; while driving uphill with a load vehicle popped out of gear unexpectedly which could cause loss of vehicle control and a crash. Dealer could not determine the cause of the problem.
