2000 Dodge 2500 has loose steering, wanders, darts left or right and constantly correcting the steering wheel and shimmy. Truck darted to the edge of the road and went thru the ditch while towing a trailer and I have back and neck injurys and unable to work at my old profession. And Dodge is trying to settle with now and stop the website. 1.body jumps at different speeds unable to steere.2.odometer reading didn't move for approx- 1st 200 miles.3.engine knocks. 4. shifting linkage and gears grind. 5. transmission slips and front axle grinds. 6.salesman said I was approved and did qualify for any vehicle in the lot with $10,000 down.called finance company after purchase and was approved for the vehicle I originally wanted.7.brakes need to be replaced all the way around. 1500, vehicle has been taken to dealer 15 times for loud grinding noise in the rear end when making turns and when backing up. The first time at 625 miles. Dealer is unable to duplicate the problem. Nlm
While wheel alignment was done mechanic noticed front rotors were worn down to nothing, metal to metal. Replaced rotors and front disc pads. At this time, rotors need to be replaced again. Ball joints and tires were replaced, consumer states problems with the rear but did not specify, also did not specify types of tires. Vehicle experiencing problems with the transmission. Intake gasket replaced. New carpet in the cab was installed. New bumper and grill was installed. Consumer also states problem with the ABS along with the rotors and disc pads.
While driving consumer found it very difficult to control vehicle in extremly windy conditions, vehicle would wander from side to side making steering a real problem, vehicle was inspected and a alignment was performed which did not correct the problem as well as replacing front and rear shocks, set air bags, and installed sway bar it was also determined that the vehicle was overweight which was causing the problem.
Consumers vehicle is difficult to control at speeds of 50 mph or higher dealer unable to duplicate problem and suggest that consumer put 45 lb air in front tires and 80 in the rear tires. Nlm
