This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The vehicle certification label has the wrong tire size and inflation pressure on it. It states the truck has P225/75R16 tires with a pressure of 41psi. The truck was manufactured with P245/75R16 tires with a max psi of 35. This could result in overinflation of the tires if a person went by the pressure on the label instead of the tires. I have talked with the dealer and they stated they could not correct the problem and that it is common. If that is the case, why does the dot require the information be there?
