The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500. The contact stated that the trailer hitch side brackets fractured from the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and inquired in regards to NHTSA campaign id number: 00V107000 (trailer hitches). The dealer advised the contact that his VIN was not included in the recall campaign. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 135,000.
Trailer hitch is cracked. If carrying a boat or trailer and it pops off there would be a huge accident. When contacting dealer, he told consumer that vehicle was not covered under recall 00 V 07 000.
Consumers had found on a routine check cracks on hitch. Manufacturer said that vehicle was not under warranty, and there was no way to help consumer in this situation. The consumer suggests that the manufacturer conduct inspection on 3500 series vehicles if any other hitch failures other than the one on recall, have occured.
I had a recall for trailer hitch, (fixed) had a recall for emissions, ( computer adjustment)after that fuel mileage droped from 13.5 to 8.8.took it to dealer in Florida and they said they could not do anything about it.I would like to get it set back to 13 miles per gal.what can be done about this?
Consumer received recall 00V107000 concerning trailer hitch and attachment. Consumer stated that the recall repairs were not sufficient enough to correct the problem.
