Dealer was asked to replace transmission after last failure. They indicated to us that they did repalce the transmission. Failure causes the transmission to lock up at high speed and also causes severe hesitation during take off and passing. Could result in an accident.
Transmission began to fail at 60,000 miles, took to dealer said need to adjust bands, continued to slip, took back to deal, they said they adjusted bands, changed transmission fluid, and could not find a problem, after truck reach 77,000 miles, deal said I needed new transmission @ $5000.
The transmission began to shift abnormally and then not shift at all. The vehicle has been maintained according to owners manual for transmission service and all other recommendations according to manual. All this has been done at local dealer. Transmission required overhaul at cost of $1250.
2500 within two months of purchasing my 1995 Dodge Ram I began to feel an unusual shifting in the transmission on an intermittent basis. I carried the vehicle to huntsville Dodge at 6519 university dr. Huntsville, al 35806, telephone 256-721-9560. The vehicle was carried to this dealership since it is much closer to my home. They could find no problem. At first the shifting was on an intermittent basis but continued to progess in frequency until it finally would not shift out of low gear. This is the point when I could finally get someone at the dealership in the vehicle when the problem was present. They replace the transmission and now with less than 10,000 miles on the new transmission I am beginning to see the same problem again. It has once again started off on an intermittent basis. The dealership at huntsville Dodge kept the vehicle for a complete day and stated that they could not find a problem. I have had the vehicle in at the Dodge dealership in fayetteville, tn also in an effort to find someone who can help me with this problem. All total between the two transmissions I have had this vehicle in at one dealership or another over 15 times for the same problem and no one seems to be able to correct the problem until it gets so bad that you literally cannot drive the vehicle.

The automatic transmission still over heats when decending a long 7% grade while towing my fifth wheel trailer in second gear. It is not safe to be decending mountain grades, and have to keep looking at the transmission warning light. When the light comes on, you are to stop and cool the trans. It is almost impossible to find a safe area to pull off the road. Dodge cheched out the truck, and stated that it is ok. The truck is not overloaded.
When the brakes are applied to slow down the vehicle pulls to the left. Consumer states that sometimes vehicle will pull slightly and sometimes it will pull so bad that the vehicle will turn a corner on its own, this has been an ongoing problem since two months after purchase. Transmission has leaked three times. Radio broke. Power windows failed. Fuel pump failed. Knocking noise in engine. Weather stripping falling off.
Purchased truck new, when applying the brakes, truck pulls a side, sometimes it is a different side; also, transmission makes noise, jerks and locks in park.
