The throttle stuck open because of a frayed cable. When I left the interstate I almost ran into the rear of the vehicles in front of me. I had to shift into neutral so that I could stop. If I would have turned off the engine I would not have had any power brakes. The manufacture must has been awair of this problem as the replacement cable was entirely different and incased in plastic so that it could not bend and fray.
