While driving, the hood flew open and damaged the hood. The consumer was notified of a recall on the hood latch, but the vehicle identification number did not pertain to the vehicle. The consumer received recall letter after the incident. (#01V040000)
Prior to recall (95V056000) consumer stated the hood latch failed, which allowed the hood to come up while driving, the force broke the hinges off the hood, which hit the windshield so hard it cracked, this in turn almost caused consumer to have an accident, consumer had the latch repaired by an outside mechanic only becuase the local dealer insisted there was no recall on that part and refused to replace the secondary latch at no charge, consumer is now requesting reimbursement.(attorney, annette francher bishop for client)
Throttle control cable was repaired under campaign id 01V037000. Less than 500 miles later, throttle cable failed while driving. Vehicle checked by another dealer, who advised consumer that recall repairs did not properly repair the first time. Dealer advised consumer that first dealer did not add all necessary components. Consumer states hood latch and ignition switch repaired under recall campaign (01V-040 and 00V-135) but failed again.
While driving vehicle stalled out. Transmission blewout which was caused by pressure clip on line blowing off, all the fuel ran out.*also, there were 5 recalls, dealer only fixed one, hood latch.

Hood latch disengaged without warning while vehicle was in operation. Consumer had hood tied down at the moment to prevent this from happening. Consumer was informed by manufacturer that this vehicle was not included in recall 95V056000. Only vehicle's registered on East coast were included in recall.
While driving between 60 -62 mph hood flew open. In 1995 there was a recall on hood latch. Consumer was never notified of recall. Dodge co insisted recall was performed on this vehicle.
95V056ooo/hood assembly:latches; 97V084000/transmission cooling line; 97V199 000/fuel tank rollover valve, and 00V135000/ignition swtich wiring. Consumer received recall notices since Mar 1995, and still was unable to get dealer to honor the recalls because of no parts being available. Dealer would call and tell consumer to bring vehicle in for a part that was available. However, when consumer arrived the part was already given to someone else. Asking help from NHTSA in this matter. Feel free to provide any further details.
Received recall notice 95V056000, secondary hood latch; because vehicle was involved in an accident & owner refused repairs, insurance company totaled it. Body shop brought, repaired & sold vehicle. Owner took vehicle to dealer for recall & mechanic called zone representative who refused to have dealer do recall repairs due to vehicle not having any warranties & was salvaged.
Received recall notice (395V056000) in the mail & contacted dealer. Was informed that there were no parts available & that they are on back order. Been over 2 1/2 months & been calling off & on ever since but to no avail.
