The contact owned a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. While the vehicle was parked, the contact noticed flames under the front passenger side of the vehicle near the battery. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire. A police/fire report was filed and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 170,000. Updated 5/4/15 the consumer believed the battery on the passenger side shorted out and started the fire. Updated 11/16/2015
