I entered the highway in my Dodge Ram 2500 2008 truck, while I was at 50 mph my truck started making growling noises from the engine and I heard explosive noises from the bottom of the truck. My speed dropped to 25 mph and I could see from my side mirror car parts exploding off the truck on the highway in front of other vehicles while I was in motion and driving. This a highway at speeds of 70 mph so I had to move over to the service lane luckily I was in the right lane but I barely avoid a large petroleum truck from crushing my truck which would have been a homicide because he was blowing his horn and could not stop in time. The car dealer claims they are investigating its has now been 4 days and I have not heard anything yet called Chrysler manufacturer waiting to hear back about what caused this to happen to my truck. I only know some of the parts damaged on the truck

Heading to town to take 2008 Dodge Ram to the dealership to have looked at for stalling at idle and no foot pedal response. Shut truck off and restarted now I have throttle.. anyways headed to dealership to have these thing looked at. Im on the interstate cruise control set at 70mph. I go over a slight dip on the interstate than experience what feels like two blown front tires. The entire truck is shaking violently. Its all I can do to hold onto the steering wheel. The truck feels like its going to fall apart. I get on the brakes start pulling to the side of the road at about 10miles an hour this violent vibration stops. This incident was the scariest incident I've been through. I inspected the truck nothing visible wrong so I continued on to dealership with no problems.. 15 minutes later I stopped shaking. Told service man at dealership what just happened and he says oh you just experienced the death wobble.. are you serious they have a nickname for this and are still selling these vehicles at 40,000 a piece. I refused to sign the work agreement and left the truck there. I will not pay to have this truck fixed. This vehicle is a serious danger to the driver, passengers and any other vehicles on the road. After research I found many other incidents of what I have described. Go to youtube and type Dodge death wobble. Vehicle manufactures should be responsible for there product. Concerned and productive United States citizen..

On a misty morning our truck began to skid as we attempted to accelerate after yielding to exiting traffic on an access road on ih 10. My husband tried to control the skid by steering into it, but we just kept skidding out of control. He purposely remembers not applying the brake in an attempt to lessen the loss of control. We continued the skid across 2 lanes of access road to the right, then spun around 180 degrees and skidded back across 3 lanes of access road to the left. We came to stop facing oncoming traffic after hitting a concrete retaining wall first with the right front of the truck and then with the right rear of the truck. I remember hearing the tires continuing to spin and smelled burning rubber. This caused over $6500 damage to the truck and has caused our insurance rates to increase. After months of discussing the wreck and replaying it in our minds, we have determined that probably, as my husband clinched the steering wheel and tried to control the spin, that the cruise control was engaged and set which made us continue to travel at the set speed instead of slowing and allowing him to regain control of the truck. The cruise control on/off button and the set button are both located on the steering wheel. This is the first vehicle that we have ever had or seen that has the on/off control for the cruise located on the steering wheel. Most vehicles have this either on the blinker lever or even on the dash board. We feel certain that the cruise control was inadvertently turned on when my husband tightened his hold on the steering wheel. I feel that this is an unsafe location for this control. We were very lucky that in our travels across all lanes of traffic, not once, but twice that there were no other cars on the road that morning or this would have been a multi car pile up. No change has been made to the truck's cruise control. We plan to have it disconnected. In attempt to prevent others from having a wreck, we are reporting it.
