It is a power brake pedal that is made to move backward and forward. The brake pedal moves from left to right. Never moved at all before. Something must have broke. Does not feel or look to be safe.
I have the laramie package which has adjustable pedals as option. There's is a bushing that the brake pedal mounts to the armthis bushing breaks or wears out and causes the pedal to swing left and right. This is a safety issue which causes your foot to slip off pedal as it swings. I have done research and this incident is not isolated to my year model. There are several right ups on this same same problem. This is not an easy fix as the steeering column has to be removed. It also is not cheap. The parts are on national back order to to the amount of pedals failing. This is a huge safety risk or concern. I have read several forums to where people have had them replaced only to have the same issue. I was stopped at a major intersection and foot slipped off pedal. Sometimes while driving and going to stop, pedal moves to the left and I have to concentrate on where my foot is to apply brakes. Please look into other similar complaints and help us get this serious issue fixed.
Brake pedal bushings broke/worn during operation on the interstate allowing pedal to move more than 3 inches side to side.the movement in the pedal is a safety issue experienced by all Ram owners with power pedals. The truck only has 50,000 miles on the odometer.
Upon restarting my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel, my ABS light and parking brake light came on after driving a few short moments, I also noticed that speedometer indicator was not working but the vehicle RPM indicator was. Causing myself some concern I checked my brakes and noticed I had a hard brake pedal when applied but was still able to stop. I contacted my local dealership and took my vehicle in for service for this issue and recall notice concerning the drivers air bag inflator. I was contacted back by my service adviser, asking for approval for additional two hours of diagnoses time due to the fact his mechanic could not find the problem.I was notified at end of the day that the issue was found to be faulty power distribution center, output failed for circuit F202 unable to recover tipm thru reconfiguration. No pdc available thru parts at this time, fabricated jumper lead to to circuit F202 from fuse 28 in pdc. This is a temporary fix customer advised to replace pdc asap current price $917 additional 1.5 hrs labor to install and program unit. Total hours for diagnosis was 3 hours at a cost of $315 to customer. I believe this should investigated by the NHTSA as a on going concern and for consideration of a issuing a new safety recall for this issue.

Truck is not driven very often. I noticed the power adjustable break pedals moves side to side early. But do to lack of driving I was never able to physically bring it to a dealer until just recently. I had it there for the air bag recall. And remembered to ask them to look at the pedal. They said it was definitely bad and a safety issue. They never did this type of repair. They were not sure how to do it and I think that it should be fixed from a design fault. I see that this is somewhat common from my research. Also I see that Dodge has a repair kit out for this from 2009. If I hit break pedal it wants to swing to the left causing my foot to slip off and hit he accelerator.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the turn signals and brake lights malfunctioned on the trailers attached to the vehicle. The contact mentioned that no warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the failure occurred at any speed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the amperage was incorrect and needed to be reset. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The date listed is the first instance, today, March 3, 2015 was the 2nd, while driving towing a trailer and trying to come to a stop simultaneously the electric trailer brakes failed to energize pushing the truck into a skid and the ABS failed to function, upon further investigation we found that the brake lights on both the truck and trailer were not working, talked to the dealer today and they said "oh its probably just the "tipm" or onboard power management system" as if this happens all the time. Neither incident caused an accident however for my part I have been towing trailers and driving trucks for a long time.
There was an slow loss of rear braking, that was preceded by a strange sound coming from the right rear of the truck, when I took it to my tire shop they discovered a compete failure of the seal and the brakes, disc and router were saturated with oil--this result in the necessity of a total overhaul of the entire rear axle braking system.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that they could not determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 9,000.
Drove into my driveway went to stop and brakes failed, almost hit my other car! brake fluid leaking from rusted lines! same thing happened to my 2003 Silverado and cost me over $2,000 to have repaired.
I have had the ABS system warning light on 5 or 6 times, turn signal problems- both turn signals work at same time, A/C problems with the compressor not working at times and now is out all together. ABS and the lighting issue is the biggest problem since it is a 2500 truck and I hall hay, tractors and a 30 ft 5th wheel trailer, people need to know what I am doing or can I stop.
