Ram 2500 Diesal

The bubbling began on the driver's side around the well. It progressively has gotten worse. I have contacted Ram and they will do anything about it because they said it is not a reported problem. Since then the passenger side has began to bubble. Both sides look horrible. It will cost in access of $3,000.00 to replace both sides because the autobody shop said if you just patch the problem will occur. This is a known defect by Ram and they will not fix it. This is the only problem with this truck.

Ram 2500 SLT V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

I have a 05' Dodge Ram 2500. This is a garaged truck and kept in mint condition It only has 42000 miles and on a 7 year old vehicle, that's low. Now, as many are experiencing...this truck is getting those paint bubbles around the rear wheel wells. After speaking to a several different body shops I learned this is from a poor design in the wheel well panels. Dodge Ram has two layers of sheet metal, dirt and moisture get stuck in between these layers and the panel rust from behind the paint. No matter how clean you keep the inside of the wheel well the dirt/salt/moisture enters through factory made holes on the back side, impossible to clean between the sandwiched sheet metal; inevitably you will end up with this rust and rot around your wheel wells. There should be a class action lawsuit for this and hope to start the process.

I have a 2005 2500 heavy duty ram love this truck, or should i say loved this truck. this last summer the rear wheel wells started to bubble. I took the truck to my local body shop to see about having it fixed and he told me ram sells an after market wheel well cover that would have prevented the rust in the first place. my question is, is dodge that cheap that they couldnt have put these on from the factory. I like that truck payed good money for it, but ill probably buy something else next time. my dad has a 2000 ford f-150 not a rust spot on it. simply amazing.

Ram 2500 Laramie Diesel

Rust bubbles forming from inner wheel wells. Contacted Dodge, and the dealer says it is out of warranty. They are well aware of the problem and will not fix.
